Feb. 17: South Dakota reports 164,399 vaccine doses have been administered

(KTIV) - As of Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health has confirmed 164,399 vaccines have been administered across the state.

Of those administered, 86,672 were Moderna vaccines and 77,727 were Pfizer.

So far, 53,640 people have completed their vaccine series, with 7.77% of the state's 16 and older population being fully vaccinated.

Additionally, South Dakota health officials have reported 95 new cases of COVID-19 since Tuesday, bringing the state's total to 110,685. According to Wednesday's reporting, 90 of the new cases are confirmed cases.

Currently 2,072 active cases are being reported in the state, with 106,769 people having recovered from the virus.

Ninety-four residents remain hospitalized due to the virus. Since the pandemic began, 6,461 residents have been hospitalized in the state due to the virus.

There have been 1,844 deaths connected to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.
