OMAHA, Neb. (KTIV) - A Sioux City woman was sentenced Friday for throwing several objects at an officer while she was being arrested.

According to a press release, 23-year-old Shaylynn Jackson was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day imprisonment for assaulting an officer. After her release from prison, she will then begin a 2-year term of supervision.

The release said law enforcement officers with the Omaha National Law Enforcement Services were called to a residence where Jackson struck her boyfriend with her vehicle.

When Jackson was later located, officers attempted to take her into custody.

Authorities said when they tried to arrest Jackson she resisted, pushed an officer and threw a weed whacker and folding chair at an officer. When she was being placed into a police vehicle, she kicked another officer.
