Feb. 21: Iowa reports over 143,000 people have completed their vaccine series


(KTIV) - A total of 552,680 vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents. Of those administered doses, 335,831 were Moderna and 239,004 were Pfizer.

According to the state's COVID-19 dashboard, 143,666 people have completed their vaccine series.

As vaccinations continue across the state, total COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped to 229, a decrease of nine since Feb. 20.

Between 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, Iowa health officials reported 423 new positive cases  across the state, bringing the state's total cases to 359,380.

Of those who have tested positive, 309,168 have recovered, an increase of 454 recoveries since Saturday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (309,168) and the number of deaths (5,336) from the total number of cases (359,380) shows there are currently 44,876 active positive cases in the state.

In Iowa, there were 9,676 new tests given in the last 24 hours, and a total of 3,953,107 people have been tested for COVID-19.
