SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - You'll be able to register this week for the next COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Sioux City's Tyson Events Center.
The Siouxland District Health Department, which oversees Woodbury County, is tentatively planning to hold their next mass vaccine clinic on March 2.
SDHD officials say the clinic is open only for Woodbury County residents that are 65 years of age or older.
The vaccines will be available by appointment only, and residents will be able to register beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25. Proof of age will be required at the appointment.
Online registration can be accessed at the Siouxland District Health Department website here. Appointments are expected to fill up quickly with past clinics filling up in less than 30 minutes.
For individuals age 65 and older that do not have the ability to make the appointment online, SDHD will have assistance available to make the appointment over the phone by calling 712-234-3922 beginning at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday.
The line is reserved for those 65 and older who are unable to use the online appointment scheduling. This special phone bank will not be operational until registration opens.
The SDHD says there will be fewer online appointments available due to a smaller amount of vaccines available for the March 2 clinic.
An additional vaccination clinic is planned for the week of March 8, which officials say will focus on individuals included in Phase 1B, Tier 1 that have not yet had the opportunity to sign up. The SDHD will notify the public when appointments are available for this date.
Those included Phase 1B, Tier 1 include people age 65 and older, law enforcement officers, firefighters, child welfare social workers, PK-12 school staff, early childhood education, childcare workers and healthcare workers.
