Feb. 26: South Dakota has administered over 200,000 COVID-19 vaccines

(KTIV) - South Dakota health officials are reporting 7,022 more people have completed their vaccine series, with a total of 71,800 people in the state now fully vaccinated.

This means an estimated 12.45% of South Dakota's 16 and older population has been fully vaccinated. The state's COVID-19 dashboard shows about 24.03% of that age group has received at least one dose.

So far, South Dakota has administered 207,943 vaccines, with 107,128 being Moderna and 100,815 being Pfizer.

On Feb. 26, health officials reported 143 more COVID-19 cases in South Dakota, 103 of them were confirmed. Currently, 1,944 active virus cases are in the state, a decrease of four since yesterday.

Out of the 112,107 cases reported in South Dakota, 108,284 have recovered. A total of 96 patients are hospitalized due to the virus.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,879 virus-related deaths have been reported in South Dakota. Five more COVID-19 deaths were reported on Friday.
