Mar. 2: South Dakota reports over 224,000 vaccine doses have been administered

(KTIV) - South Dakota health officials are reporting 251 more people have completed their vaccine series, with a total of 77,785 people in the state now fully vaccinated.

This means an estimated 13.66% of South Dakota's 16 and older population has been fully vaccinated. The state's COVID-19 dashboard shows about 26.02% of that age group has received at least one dose.

So far, South Dakota has administered 224,643 vaccines, with 113,972 being Moderna and 110,671 being Pfizer.

On March 2, health officials reported 182 more COVID-19 cases in South Dakota, 141 of them were confirmed. Currently, 1,918 active virus cases are in the state, an increase of 57 since yesterday.

Out of the 112,652 cases reported in South Dakota, 108,789 have recovered while 92 patients are hospitalized due to the virus.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,888 virus-related deaths have been reported in South Dakota. No additional COVID-19 deaths were reported on Tuesday.
