SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- Drilling Pharmacy vaccinated more Siouxlanders Tuesday at the Morningside branch of the Sioux City Public Library.
The nearly 300 people, who rolled up their sleeves, had previous appointments. An additional 288 people will be vaccinated Wednesday.
Pharmacy Manager Christina Plautz said things have been running smoothly.
"It's been a great collaboration with the library. It's nice for people to be able to walk into a bigger area, keep social distance. It's a nice space for us to be able to check in check out. Have more vaccinators, which obviously we can see more people and be able to get more vaccines in arms," said Pharmacy Manager Christina Plautz.
Plautz said nursing students from Morningside College, and retired and working nurses were at the clinic as volunteers to help administer vaccines.
One Siouxlander, who was vaccinated, said she's thankful to Drilling for putting it together.
"This is my pharmacy, so I'm thrilled to be able to have their support. I walked in. They had me fill out a few forms. It was quick. It was easy. And she was really good at it and it didn't really hurt," said Michele Haupt, a vaccine recipient.
Those receiving a vaccine waited the standard 15 minutes before checking out with a schedule for their next dose.
