WASHINGTON, DC (KTIV) - U.S. Senator Charles Grassley, of Iowa, will head to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday for a two-day trip.
The Republican says he's looking for "transparency" and "accountability" when it comes to the Biden administration's immigration policy.
Grassley claims the administration's loosening of border restrictions is an invitation for migrants to come into the United States illegally. "This administration is so embarrassed by the poor conditions that they have to hold these migrants in that they made a big, big mistake," said Sen. Charles Grassley. "And, bringing public attention to this, getting this administration to back off of everything they did to completely eliminate all of the success that the Trump administration had in keeping our borders more secure."
Grassley will visit the border at McAllen, Texas.
