18-year-old killed in eastern Iowa crash after car flipped and caught fire

BREMER COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) — The Bremer County Sheriff's Office is reporting that an 18-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

The crash happened on April 3 just after 5:30 a.m. about 20 miles northeast of Waterloo, Iowa.

Eighteen-year-old Carter Cannon, of Hawkeye, has been identified as the victim.

Cannon was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix north when her vehicle went into the ditch. The Prix hit a culvert, landed on its top on a nearby street and caught fire.

Cannon was the only one in the vehicle.
