Briar Cliff upset by Jamestown in GPAC Semifinal

SIOUX CITY (Courtesy Briar Cliff) - Briar Cliff women's soccer battled Jamestown to a 1-0 loss Tuesday afternoon in the semifinal round of the GPAC Postseason Tournament. The loss is the second of the season for the Chargers, who move to 12-2-2 on the year.

The contest's only goal came in the 31st minute of the contest. Autumn Opperud put a shot from the right side of the 18-yard box over goalkeeper Ruby Campa for the 1-0 lead.

The Jimmies had a 9-5 advantage in shots and 4-2 edge in shots on goal in the game. Campa made three saves while allowing just her sixth goal of the season. Alex Nowka made two saves for Jamestown.

Hannah Shuttleworth had two shots for the Chargers and Taylor Hill, Sonja Rao and Baillee Hackley added on apiece.

Despite falling in the conference tournament, the Chargers will play in the NAIA National Tournament with their automatic bid from winning the regular season crown. The selection show and bracket release will be Monday, April 12.
