NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - Wednesday, the Norfolk Area Diversity Council in conjunction with the Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department and Northeast Community College hosted a COVID-19 vaccine registration and information event at the Lifelong Learning Center.
Students and members of the community were able to stop by and register or get more information about the vaccine. But there was a very important aspect to this event.
There were volunteers there who are helping anyone who may have any issues with accessing the vaccine registration portal. That can include language barriers, technology issues, or helping people learn more if they're uncertain about the vaccine.
One of the bilingual volunteers said she is happy to help those with a language barrier get the information they need.
“Knowing that we’re here and we’re helping our community members, there no greater feeling than that to give back to our community” said Leonor Fuhrer, a bilingual volunteer from the Diversity Council.
The registration event went from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
