NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - While the COVID-19 vaccination registration event was going on, Northeast Community College's student activities board also hosted a blood drive.
The American Red Cross was on site and excited to have a blood drive on campus. There were 65 people sign up to donate Wednesday, which was the goal of the activities board. Leaders say there were a few people who just walked-in and wanted to donate.
“It’s huge. I think that all the donors realize that too and so that’s why we had…we’ve had a lot of people come and donate blood that wouldn’t normally give blood. But because if everything that’s going on in the world I think that they know that their blood could definitely be helping people” said Erika Rupprecht, the Student Activities Coordinator.
Rupprecht said she hopes everyone continues to donate blood at local blood drives.
