After one mild day, snow is in the forecast for the start of the workweek

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Don’t get too comfortable with the incredible weather we got to enjoy on Sunday because big changes are on the way.

Those changes start with a cold front that pushes into Siouxland from Sunday evening into Sunday night.

Temperatures will start to cool down and rain showers will be developing.

Once it gets cold enough Sunday night, snow will be mixing in with the rain and a combination of rain and snow will continue into Monday as well.

We could see some minor snow accumulation (up to an inch) with this system although most of the accumulation should take place on grassy surfaces as opposed to roads and sidewalks.

This mix of precipitation should be winding down by later in the day Monday with highs hitting about the 40-degree mark.

This system will have moved to the east by Tuesday, but we will be left with chilly air still with highs only in the mid 40s.

When will some warmer weather return?

I'll have more in my forecast tonight on News 4 at 5, 6, and 10.
