SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - People of all ages could attend a Tennis clinic at the Four Seasons Health Club put on by former professional Luke Jensen.
Jensen, a doubles specialist, won the French Open with his brother Murphy in 1993 and impressed audiences with their unorthodox style and long flowing hair. The clinic ran all day today with sessions about 90 minutes long, and anyone from children to adults of all ages could show up and try to improve upon their game with the pro. Jensen says although the pandemic put a halt to tennis for a small period of time, in a way it's helped the sport and if you want to start playing its pretty simple.
"Well the tennis industry reported that tennis was up 26 percent of participation thats people getting on the court whether they're Roger Federer or Roger Rabbit," said Jensen. "Covid was very kind to tennis in a way cause of the social distancing and so people are getting out and playing kids are playing, families are getting out. I think the biggest thing is that you can step on the court and get playing pretty quickly."
This isn't Jensen's first appearance in Sioux City. He was here doing similar clinics in 2017.
