Norfolk, Neb. (KTIV) - Spring is when mother nature and the golf gods come together and say, let's hit the links.
Golfers in northeast Nebraska have been taking advantage of the warm weather over the past few weekends and playing golf.
Leaders at Fair Play Golf Course in Norfolk say that they have remained busy throughout the pandemic, and they’re already swinging for an even better 2021.
"We've got I think 55 new members this year already. Last year we had 50 total new members. So we're getting close to that 300 total members which is great," said Jon Erickson, the golf course manager.
He also said the recently nice weather has made them super busy on the weekends.
"With the nice weather, that tee timesheet has been full from 8 o'clock to darn near dark, we still have people wanting to play. So I expect nothing more the rest of the year just like it," added Erickson.
Erickson says that even with a few cold days the past week, people were still out on the course, trying to get that hole in one.
Erickson says his favorite part about golf season is seeing the new and old faces at the course, and meeting new members.
