Around Siouxland: Derby & Dreams

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

(KTIV) - After canceling in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, Derby & Dreams will be having a virtual event this year.

It's a benefit fundraiser for the Pier Center for Autism, and money raised this year will be matched by a grant that will go to helping construct a new center.

The event is tied in with the Kentucky Derby coming up on May 1, but before that, people can get in on the fun and help the cause.

Right now, people can go to where the event is selling derby boxes. Each box includes a Charcuterie tray that contains different kinds of meat, cheese and fruit, sweet treats and other fun derby surprises for two people. Each box is $50.00 and there are only 150 available.

Those boxes will be picked up at Mid-Step Services on April 30, and then on May 1, people can watch the derby with all of the pre-derby events on KTIV Channel 4.1. They'll also be able to log onto and watch videos about the Pier Center, purchase raffle tickets, bid on auction items. The silent auction will open on April 26.
