SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A trial date is now set for a Sioux City man accused of robbing a Sioux City bank last month.
Court documents state 35-year-old Ronald Edwards is charged with second-degree robbery. He is being held in the Woodbury County Jail on a 50-thousand dollar bond.
Court records show his trial is set to begin on June 8.
On March 31, police were called to Great Southern Bank on Pierce Street just before 3:45 p.m. for a robbery.
Authorities say Edwards approached a bank teller, threatened her, and took an undisclosed amount of cash. He was arrested a short distance away.
Court records say Edwards committed the robbery to settle a dispute with an acquaintance, Jon Boggs, about whether Edwards would actually rob a bank.
