(NBC) -- The 2021 Kentucky Derby returns to its usual spot on the sports calendar, the first Saturday in May.
Due to the pandemic, last year's running took place in September and with very few fans. But on Saturday, Churchill Downs will be at 50 percent capacity.
The Run for the Roses will feature 20 of the best three-year-old horses in the world and is the first leg of horse racing's Triple Crown.
Only 13 horses have won the Triple Crown with Justify last completing the trifecta in 2018.
You can see all pageantry of the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby on KTIV channel 4.1, with pre-race coverage starting Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT.
