STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) - The boil advisory has been lifted for a portion of the East 6th Street area in Storm Lake, Iowa.

The city announced May 27, has been lifted for this affected area by the most recent water interruption.

STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) - Portions of Storm Lake, Iowa will be under a boil advisory starting Thursday as crews begin replacing watermain valves in the city.

In a press release, city officials said crews will be working near the intersections of Oneida and 4th Street, as well as Hudson and East 6th Street.

City officials say construction will begin between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday and water will be temporarily shut off for a period of two hours during that time.

Once the water comes back on, residents in the area will be under a boil advisory until further notice. The city says it will notify residents when this happens.

The homes that'll be affected by the advisory will be in the East 6th Street and East 4th Street areas.

During the advisory, the city says residents should bring water to a boil for a full minute or more and then let it cool before using. Residents are also recommended to use bottled water during the advisory.
