UPDATE: Nebraska State Patrol released the victim's names following a quadruple fatality crash near Scribner.
Officials said the driver, Heidi Lykens-Huisman, 37, and passengers Joshua Huisman, 29, and Jaymasin Lykens, 10, were all pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim. nine-month-old Nova Huisman, was taken to the hospital in Fremont and later passed away.
The semi-driver, Heath Harrison, 37, was not injured according to updated information.
A preliminary investigation shows a southbound Pontiac sedan attempted to pass another vehicle on Highway 275 when it lost control and struck a northbound semi in the northbound lane of the two-lane highway.
OMAHA, Neb. (KTIV) - Nebraska law enforcement are investigating a crash in Dodge County Thursday morning that claimed the lives of four people.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. just east of Scribner and involved a passenger vehicle and a semi.
The patrol says two adults and one child died at the scene, while a second child was transported to a hospital in Fremont where they later died. All four fatalities were from the passenger vehicle.
The condition of the semi driver is not known at this time.
Investigators are working to identify the victims at this time. Further information will be released at a later time.
The investigation remains ongoing. Highway 275 is closed in the area and will likely remain closed for some time.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office and Scribner Police Department are on scene to assist.
