SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KTIV) - Authorities in Nebraska are investigating an officer involved shooting that left a 47-year-old man in the western portion of the state dead.
According to the Nebraska Attorney General's Office, on June 7 law enforcement was called to the 2300 block of West Overland Drive in Scottsbluff, Nebraska for a welfare check on an individual.
Authorities say officers entered the house at about 5:30 p.m. and Daniel Ojeda was shot, a short time later he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
At the request of the Scotts Bluff County Attorney, the Nebraska Attorney General's Office has been appointed to conduct the grand jury investigation which is required by Nebraska law when an officer involved shooting occurs.
