ANTHON, Iowa (KTIV) - Folks from Sioux City's Sister City, Lake Charles, Louisiana, gathered at Fireside Steakhouse and Lounge in Anthon, Iowa on Wednesday.
While there won't be a festival show like in the past, the crew will have a float in the parade.
Costume Designer John Chavanne said, after not holding a celebration last year because of COVID, they are excited to be back in Siouxland.
"We enjoy our friends. They have fallen right into our culture, our lifestyle, our way of living. And we have fallen into yours. We talk funny and so do y'all. But it's a friendship that's kindled over 20 years. We've made some lifelong friends here and we genuinely missed them. We missed them last year," said John Chavanne, Costume Designer.
And they weren't the only ones happy to be back in Siouxland.
"It's just neat to see all of our friends and spend some time with them. This is a friendship that's been going on for over 25 years and it's really important to us to show these people that Sioux City really cares about the friendship and the sister city relationship," said Marty Pottebaum, Krewe de Charlie Sioux.
